This year, I decided that my wife and I would look into reducing our energy consumption. We are high energy users, partially due to the fact that we have a 3 kW heater in our 3,000-gallon koi pond, which I keep at a minimum of 16°C. We also care for three young children, who, along with us, bathe daily and often leave lights on!
My first project was to change every bulb in our house to LED, which I could do myself.
Now, this is where this company comes in—phase two.
All of the following comments are based on my personal experience and the excellent service we have received.
I started my research on PV in early February and was inundated with pushy companies urging me to buy immediately for various reasons.
One of my biggest challenges was getting the aesthetics right, as my wife was opposed to solar panels, believing they looked unattractive. However, as you will see from the attached photographs, that was not the case.
My first point of contact was through the website with Derek, a very knowledgeable and non-pushy professional who had our best interests at heart. I told him what I wanted, and he arranged an appointment at a convenient time. He explained the principles of PV in great detail, leaving no questions unanswered.
Next, Mick, the surveyor, visited us, drew up the plans, and calculated the expected income generated from the system, along with an approximate payback period for the installation costs. The quote we received was very competitive, with a full breakdown of the work to be carried out. We were very satisfied, paid the deposit, and agreed on the installation dates.
We then met the entire team at this company—large enough to handle the job efficiently yet small enough to provide a personal touch. Throughout every stage, my wife and I were kept informed of the installation progress and treated with complete respect and courtesy.
I can be quite particular and specific about details, requiring patience from any company I deal with. This company certainly demonstrated that patience.
We are now proud owners of:

- SMA Sunny Boy 3600 inverter
- Immersion power reducer system (too complex for me to explain!)
- Sunny View monitor
